Schmid & Son Packaging was started by Pinky Schmid and her friend in 1981. As a start-up business, they made do with the garage as a makeshift workshop. The first facility was in West St. Paul, Minnesota and in 2003 the company moved to Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
Schmid & Son’s main production facility, located in Cottage Grove, is 35,000 square feet with room for expansion. The company is now owned and managed by Pinky’s two sons Steve and Jeff Schmid.
